HCRG Care Group awarded contract to provide school-aged immunisation programme in BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire
HCRG Care Group will continue to deliver the immunisation programme for school-aged children in BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) after being awarded a new contract by NHS England.
The new contract will commence on 1 August 2024 and will run for at least five years.
Pat Birchall, Chief Operating Officer, said: “This is great news which will allow us to continue to have a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in BSW and to build on the strong relationships that we have developed with our health and care partners across the region.”
HCRG Care Group has successfully delivered the immunisation programme in BSW since 2016 and also provides a variety of community services in the Wiltshire and BaNES area that look after the physical, medical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of children and young people up to the age of 19.
Vaccinations are key to helping to protect the health of the population, reducing the number of vaccine-preventable infections and avoiding admissions to hospital.
They are an important part of the Healthy Children Programme, which offers all families a programme of screening tests, immunisations, developmental reviews, information, and guidance to support parenting and healthy choices – all services that families need to receive to achieve their optimal health and wellbeing.
Dr Matthew Dominey, Consultant in Public Health and Screening and Immunisation Lead for NHS England South West said: “HCRG Care Group have a highly skilled and professional team and we have every confidence that they will continue to successfully deliver the school aged immunisation services in BSW. We look forward to working with them again over the next 5 years to ensure delivery of a high quality service for young people and their families and schools, who they work with closely. One key area of focus over the coming year, will be to help address and reduce heath inequalities whilst maintaining and improving uptake of immunisations in BSW.”
