HCRG Care Group is proud to announce a new partnership with Child Action Northwest (CANW) to expand emotional health and wellbeing support for school-age children across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The partnership has seen six Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioners transfer to CANW, expanding its established Emotional Health and Wellbeing service. The practitioners will continue to provide evidence-based support in schools, family hubs and community settings – helping young people manage challenges such as anxiety, depression and behavioural issues.
This collaboration forms part of HCRG Care Group’s new five-year contract to continue delivering Lancashire’s Health Visiting and School Nursing service, which came into effect on 1 October, commissioned by Lancashire County Council. HCRG Care Group has successfully delivered these services in Lancashire for the past six years, supporting families through health visiting, school nursing and targeted emotional wellbeing support.
As part of the new arrangement, the practitioners that have joined CANW will maintain close links with school nurses and continue to be based in family hubs – ensuring a joined-up approach and continuity of care.
Cathy Allen, who leads Lancashire’s Health Visiting and School Nursing service at HCRG Care Group said: “We’re proud to continue delivering child and family services in Lancashire and to build on the strong foundations of the past six years. This new partnership with Child Action Northwest allows us to bring together the best of both organisations – combining our experience in delivering high-quality community health services with CANW’s specialist expertise in supporting emotional wellbeing. Together, we’re strengthening the local offer for children and families, providing early help in familiar settings like schools and family hubs, where it can make the biggest difference.”
Michelle Dixon, Strategic Director of Operations at Child Action Northwest, said: “This partnership is a really exciting step for Child Action Northwest. By welcoming new colleagues into our Emotional Health and Wellbeing team, we’re not only growing in size, but deepening the impact we can have across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Our work focuses on being a bridge between school and home life – and this collaboration with HCRG Care Group helps us walk that bridge alongside even more children and young people.”
