HCRG Care Group is delighted to have been awarded a new contract to provide vital early mental health and wellbeing support to children and young people in Wiltshire from 1 April 2023.
The two-year contract, worth £336,000 a year, will see HCRG Care Group deliver Wiltshire Council’s early mental health service for children and young people aged between 5-18.
The early intervention service, which will be called Wiltshire Children and Young People Wellbeing Service, will form part of the THRIVE framework within Wiltshire. THRIVE is an integrated, person-centred, and needs-led approach to delivering mental health services for children, young people and families.
HRCG Care Group’s passionate and highly skilled team will help to identify emotional wellbeing and mental health needs early so that children and young people in Wiltshire can receive the right help at the right time. The approach is designed to prevent children and young people from reaching crisis point, ultimately avoiding hospital admission and helping them achieve positive life outcomes. There are three elements to the service: assessment, advice and information; positive wellbeing activities (both online and face-to-face); and therapy/counselling. The team will integrate with other services for children and young people to ensure a seamless transition of care.
Val Scrase, Regional Director at HCRG Care Group, said: “Our purpose is to change people’s lives by transforming health and care, and the children, young people and their families that we work with are at the centre of everything we do. We’re delighted to have this opportunity to support more children and young people to get the right support, at the right time and go on to live happier, healthier lives”.
Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services at Wiltshire Council, said: “We want to be there for children and young people who are finding it hard to cope. This service provides early support and advice and a range of help designed to address those early fears and struggles. Being there early means preventing longer term issues which can have a devastating impact on a young person’s life. We are very pleased to announce HCRG Care Group will take on this important service and look forward to working with them.”
HCRG Care Group has been successfully delivering a number of community-based children’s services in Wiltshire since 2016, looking after the physical, medical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing of children and young people up to the age of 19. It’s Wiltshire services were recently rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission.
