Family hubs: Joining forces to create positive change in our communities

We were one of the first organisations to implement an integrated family hub model, which has resulted in excellent outcomes for families across Essex.

Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service (ECFWS), which we run in partnership with Barnardo’s on behalf of Essex County Council and Hertfordshire and West Essex NHS Integrated Care Board, established its family hub model back in 2017.

ECFWS provides integrated support to families, spanning from the prenatal stages to the age of 19 (or 25 for those with special educational needs).

There is a designated Family hub located in each district of Essex with additional delivery and outreach sites within local communities.

Our focus is to ensure that every individual in Essex has the best possible start in life by having access to free, high quality and easy access to services in their community, school, family home or within one of the family hubs.

These act as accessible centres where children, young people, and their families can readily access a diverse range of holistic support and activities, not only from ECFWS but also our partner organisations.
