HCRG Care Group shortlisted for national Best Recruitment Experience award
HCRG Care Group has been shortlisted for a national award recognising its achievements in recruiting and retaining healthcare professionals.
The organisation is a finalist in the Best Recruitment Experience category in this year’s Nursing Times Workforce and Summit Awards.
The nomination highlights the work that has been carried out as part of the organisation’s refreshed Talent Attraction Strategy, which has led to a reduction in vacancy factor and headcount turnover and improved colleague satisfaction.
Actions included:
- Refreshing the employer brand and employer value proposition
- Introducing a colleague onboarding survey to gather feedback at all stages of the candidate experience
- Holding a series of local recruitment events targeted not just at existing healthcare professionals but also individuals starting out or wanting a career change.
- Rolling out a redesigned Nursing Preceptorship Programme and achieving the National Preceptorship Interim Gold Quality Mark by NHS England’s National Workforce Skills Development unit.
- Offering new healthcare assistants the opportunity to complete the Trainee Nursing Associate Apprenticeship
- Developing the reward offer based on utilisation and need, for example introducing an affordable dental scheme and tweaking the Cycle to Work scheme so bikes up to £2k can be purchased – to include electric options.

Award winners will be announced at a ceremony at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Thursday 28 November.
