Robert Flack

Regional Director

Since gaining my degree in Theology from the University of St Andrews in the mid-90s, my career has taken me through several leadership roles in a range of settings, encompassing the commercial, not-for-profit, social enterprise and NHS sectors. I’m passionate about sustainable improvement, building strong working relationships and creating value-driven and effective teams, with key emphasis placed on sustainability, commercial growth and the quality of services.

Away from work, I’m a coach for the York cricket club, involved in helping juniors become better cricketers, in developing and improving the club for everyone and being a great fan of all things cricket!

When did you start working in your current position and what do you do?

I joined in 2023. I’m the Regional Director for the East, Dermatology and Sexual Health. It’s great to be accountable for such a broad range of services and I really enjoy the challenges that this brings.

What was your journey to this role?

In my previous role, I worked for GS1 UK. GS1 are a global not-for-profit organisation who set standards to make products and supply chains safer – the most high-profile example is the bar code which I worked on particularly for medicines and medical devices. Before that I was Chief Executive of Locala, a social enterprise that delivers NHS community services across West Yorkshire. I was responsible for a broad range of services there, from adult, intermediate and social care to children’s services and general practice.

What is the best thing about your role?

The best thing about my role is meeting and working with some fabulous and passionate people. I’m consistently impressed with the leaders, carers and professionals that I’ve met. Being able to work with such committed people is a real privilege.

Why would you recommend that someone work with HCRG Care Group?

HCRG does things right. The organisation is all about people and wants to develop everybody who works within it.
